Dickinson Financial Corporation Sales and Service Field Trainer in Kansas City, Missouri

Summary :

The Sales & Service Field Trainer is responsible for facilitating sales and service training of retail teams within a designated region focusing on the areas of deposit and loan growth. Demonstrates an understanding of necessary fundamental sales training concepts including deploying tactics that lead to results. A successful Sales & Service Field Trainer will ensure front-line associates are knowledgeable on bank products and services through in-person, telephone or virtual training. The Trainer will analyze sales data to identify trends and training needs to support retail team sales objectives. Provides routine feedback that is clear and concise.

Position starts at $48,000 a year.

Principal Accountabilities :

  • Collaborate with management to assess training needs.

  • Analyze sales results to target and evaluate sales team performance and trends. Focus training or re-training as needed based on results.

  • Employ an effective sales process that optimizes efficiency, consistency, tactics, and activities that drive results at every stage including, but not limited to, researching, prospecting, relationship building, upsells, presenting solutions, handling objections, closing the sale, and following up.

  • Under the direction of the Military Retail Admin Officer, design, coordinate, implement and facilitate training for new and existing associates in the areas of product knowledge, presentation of products and services, effective marketing tactics, and activities that lead to results and new business, cross-selling, telephone solicitation and prospecting, building client relationships and the overall client experience.

  • Make recommendations to enhance training as necessary.

  • Determine best method of training delivery based on topic, in-person, virtual, telephone, etc.

  • Provide feedback to banking center team members that is clear, concise and focused on associate sales and service development.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and sales strategy resource for banking center team members.

  • Maintain knowledge and adherence with all bank products, services, processes, systems, regulations, policies and procedures to support retail teams with accurate and efficient information.

  • Maintain a desire and passion to achieve results while supporting company policies and procedures.

  • Support, schedule, track and communicate training activities and related processes.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills while adapting communication style for different audiences.

  • Maintains client information in complete confidence.

  • Ensure work premises constitutes a safe environment that promotes positive bank image, including regular inspection for and remediation of any hazardous conditions; regular maintenance and cleaning of premises; adherence to all posting requirements in jurisdiction, including human resources and compliance postings; and provision of comfortable and appropriate space for associates to conduct banking business.

  • Understands, embodies, communicates, and instills corporate initiatives and vision, including the Bank’s six Pillars of Success.

  • Regular attendance required, working at the assigned worksite, or assigned remote location during regular business hours and/or assigned hours.

  • Completes other specified duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required, Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

  • Two years prior banking experience is required.

  • One year of training experience is required.

  • Two years of sales experience and knowledge of sales tactics that produce results is required.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and facilitation skills to maximize effectiveness of learning and knowledge transfer.

  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage learners throughout the training process.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks with frequent interruptions.

  • Professional demeanor, self-discipline, initiative, confidentiality and requiring minimal supervision are essential.

  • Must be able to handle stress and establish priorities; work may be subject to changing priorities with little advance notice.

  • Advanced knowledge of customer information systems, bank products and services, Microsoft Office Suite is required; Power BI, and other applicable systems is preferred.

  • Travel daily within assigned local region is required. Overnight travel may be minimally required. If transporting oneself, a valid driver’s license in the primary state of residence is required.

Physical Requirements:

The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting. The position involves frequent, sustained periods of sitting but also frequent, sustained periods of standing. The position requires the ability to move about the workspace to reach entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the work environment. Reaching may be required involving the ability to move arms in any direction. Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone, will be used requiring the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad. The ability to decipher a computer screen or written documents is necessary. The ability to express or exchange ideas; impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public; or to convey detailed or important instructions is required. The ability to receive and understand detailed information shared through oral or written communication is required. The position requires the ability to transport oneself from one local work site to another local work site via automobile or public transportation on a regular basis and travel outside of the local area via airplane or other public transportation on an occasional basis. Exposure to the elements is possible while outdoors. Position requires occasional lifting and/or exerting of up to 5 pounds of force.
